Singapore: Premier international carrier, Singapore Airlines (SIA), is focusing on the Indian market through innovative product and service offerings. To offer the best in service and comfort, SIA is also offering travellers new cabin layouts on its New Delhi-Singapore and Mumbai-Singapore routes.

The new cabin features offer the world's widest first and business class seats with fully flat beds, a more spacious economy class, and an enhanced KrisWorld inflight entertainment system. They are available on the new 278-seater B777-300ER aircraft, which replaces Boeing 777-300 that earlier operated on these routes.

''India is an important market for us. We believe that with our new products we'll get good business from India,'' said Yap Kim Wah, senior vice-president, product and services, SIA. The new cabin products from SIA, which took four years of extensive work and investment of $360 million, promise a world of utmost comfort and luxury on the new aircraft, he added.

''SIA has always endeavoured to bring the best in luxury travel to its passengers. The new B777-300ER caters to a truly premium way of travelling and our customers have given extremely positive feedback on the cabin products across all classes,'' said SIA general manager (India) C W Foo.

The airline has worked with leading transportation interior designer James Park Associates to develop these new products. The new first class and business class seats in the B777-300ER, with a width of 35 and 30 inches, respectively, are almost 50% wider than any other conventional first class and business class seats in the industry.

While SIA's new first class offers just eight seats, the business class seats are arranged in a forward facing four (1-2-1) abreast configurations, thus offering all passengers direct access to the aisle.
