Singapore International Airlines takes delivery of second A380 super jumbo

Singapore Airlines took delivery of its second A380 super jumbo (9V-SKB) in Toulouse last week, Friday, following a few days of delay.  The airline is due to take delivery of its third A380 at the end of February.

This delivery will enable Singapore Airlines to launch flights from Singapore to London Heathrow. The second A380, for the time being, will operate on the Hong Kong route.

Meanwhile, the first A380, which has been operating on the Singapore, Changi-Sydney route, rolled off the tarmac at Changi's new Terminal 3 onto the grass after the truck that was pushing it failed and disconnected from the plane, according to local media reports from Singapore.

There were 446 passengers onboard and all disembarked safely.

Four tyres reportedly went onto the grass and were replaced and the aircraft was scheduled to be ready to fly later Friday, Agence France Press reported, citing an SIA spokesperson.
