SpiceJet, Jet Airways and Indigo announce Rs999 monsoon fares

Three domestic airlines, including SpiceJet, Jet Airways and IndiGo, have come out with discounted fares for the monsoon season. The airlines are offering airfares as low as Rs999 for the economy class.

SpiceJet's limited period offers of fares starting at Rs999 (taxes and fees not included) is applicable for travel on direct (non-stop) flights across its domestic network.

The three-day sale launched on Tuesday will be open till midnight of 30 July 2015, for travel between 4 August and 5 October 2015. Tickets under this offer are non-refundable, though taxes and fees are refundable.

Changes in flights are permitted for Rs2,000 plus fare difference, if any.

This sale is not available at the SpiceJet call centre or at its airport ticket offices. The inventory under the offer is also limited, and seats will be available on first come-first served basis.

The discounted fares are not applicable on group bookings.

The offer list unveiled by SpiceJet at the starting fare of Rs999 one-way plus taxes includes routes such as Bengaluru-Kochi, Delhi-Udaipur, Kolkata-Agartala, Pune-Goa, Amritsar-Srinagar, Hyderabad-Goa, Mumbai-Belgaum, Kolkata-Guwahati, Chennai-Vizag etc.

Spicejet, however, is offering discounted fares of Rs1,099, Rs1,299, Rs1,399, Rs1,499, Rs1,899 and Rs2,099 (excluding taxes) on other several other routes.

These include Delhi-Jammu and Ahmedabad-Pune (Rs1,099); Mumbai-Hyderabad and Delhi-Srinagar (Rs1,299); Bengaluru-Pune and Chennai-Goa (Rs1,399); Delhi-Ahmedabad and Mumbai-Bengaluru (Rs1,499); Mumbai-Chennai and Mumbai-Kochi (Rs1,899); Mumbai-Delhi and Kolkata-Port Blair (Rs2,099); Mumbai-Amritsar and Delhi-Guwahati (Rs2,499) and Delhi-Goa and Kolkata-Bengaluru (Rs2,599).

For a limited time those who book tickets through the SpiceJet mobile app on Apples iOS or Google Android can also receive 50 per cent off on pre-booked meals, SpiceJet said.

The limited period discount offer will be available on first-come-first-served basis and are not applicable to group bookings.

Fares may also vary from sector to sector depending on route, flight, time of day, and day of week, and flight schedules and timings are subject to regulatory approvals and changes, SpiceJet added.
