Delhi IGI’s T3 terminal celebrates one year of operations

New Delhi: India's largest and most modern terminal, the T3, at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, completes one year of operations Thursday. Its operator, the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), said it would celebrate the completion of one year of successful operations through various events.

"To commemorate the event, a grand shopping festival is being held inside the terminal where passengers can avail offers and discounts up to 50 per cent at the retail and food and beverages outlets," DIAL said in a statement. A live musical performance will also be organised inside the terminal to mark the occasion.

The festival will continue till 8 August.

Commenting on the terminal's retail sector success, DIAL chief executive I Prabhakara Rao said: "In the last one year, Terminal-3's retail area has seen remarkable success."

Currently, T3 possesses the country's largest retail area in an airport spread across 20,000 square metres. The area offers a wide variety of domestic and international brands.

One of the largest passenger terminals in the world, the T3 was inaugurated on 3 July 2010.
