The Indian Air Force's helicopter aerobatics display team 'Sarang,' is slated to perform at the ILA 2008 air show due to kick off in Berlin tomorrow. The show will take place between 27 May to 01 Jun 08.

From Berlin, the Team will shift to England where it will participate in various displays, starting with the Biggin Hill Air Show held at Biggin Hill, an airfield just south of London. The show will take place between 07- 08 Jun 2008.

This will be followed by displays at the Waddington Air Show on 05-06 July 2008 and the Fairford Royal International Air Tattoo on 12-13 July 2008 which will commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Royal Air Force.

The team's tour culminates with a display during the Farnborough International Air Show, to be held from 14-20 Jul 2008.

The Sarang team has formulated and executed a three helicopter display profile in a very short span of time. The first public display of the Sarang Team was during the Asian Aerospace at Singapore in 2004 – a display that was appreciated by the viewers across the globe earning rave reviews for the Team from the international media.

Since then, the Team has graduated to a four helicopter team and has participated in numerous displays in India and abroad. The Team was adjudged as one amongst the ten best display teams in the world after its performance at the AI Ain Aerobatic Show at UAE in January 2005.

The Team is a regular participant during the bi-annual Aero-India international air show held at Air Force Station, Yelahanka.

The Sarang helicopter display team of the Indian Air Force was formed in March 2002.
