21 Apr 2016

The number of passengers carried by domestic airlines increased by 24.03 per cent and stood at 23 million during January-March 2016, against 18.55 million during the corresponding period of the previous year, aviation regulator DGCA stated in a release

An analysis of the passenger load factor of various scheduled domestic airlines in March 2016 showed that the load factor has slightly decreased compared to previous month primarily due to the end of tourist season.

The overall cancellation rate of scheduled domestic airlines for March 2016 has been 1.29 per cent, traffic data submitted by various domestic airlines showed.

During March 2016, scheduled domestic airlines received a total of 737 passenger related complaints while the number of complaints per 10,000 passengers carried for March 2016 stood at 0.9.

DGCA said all the scheduled domestic airlines complied with the mandatory capacity deployment requirements contained in the Route Dispersal Guidelines during March 2016.
