Bell, Cessna and Textron Defense to showcase their offerings at Aero India 2007

Bangalore: Textron Inc.’s aviation and aerospace businesses, including Bell Helicopter, Cessna Aircraft Company and Textron Defense System are exhibiting this week at Aero India 2007.

The five-day event will see these Textron companies showcase a wide variety of innovative offerings and solutions.

Aero India provides an extremely valuable setting for Textron to showcase a wide range of pioneering products and solutions and to directly link up with customers in this market," said N.R. Mohanty, chairman and managing director of Textron India Pvt. Ltd. "While Textron is not new to the region, we believe there are a number of long-term growth prospects for Bell, Cessna and Textron Systems that will further the advancement of Textron businesses in the country."

Textron has said that it will also participate in, and support, the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) mission during Aero India 2007. The mission seeks to strengthen the momentum of the recent U.S.-India strategic partnership and showcase American technology, build alliances, find partners and share cutting-edge technology with India.

Bell Helicopter will showcase a mock-up of the armed 407 and also feature models of the V-22, H-1Z, 407, 412 and 417. According to Textron, based on unit sales, Cessna Aircraft Company is the world's largest manufacturer of general aviation airplanes and manufactures the broadest product line of aircraft in the world, including business jets, freight- and passenger-hauling turboprop-powered Caravans, and single engine piston aircraft.

During Aero India, Cessna will exhibit the XLS, a business jet aircraft from the well-known Citation line, as well as the Grand Caravan. At Aero India, Textron Defense Systems will feature its precision strike, air launched weapons, including Sensor Fused Weapon, and the BLU-108 and Selectively Targeted Skeet (STS) sub-munitions.

Aero India 2007 is being held at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bangalore, and will cover 30,000 square meters of outdoor exhibit space and 25,000 square meters of indoor space. Extensive areas are available for static aircraft display, as well as daily demonstration flights.
