Mumbai: Chennai-based express air cargo company, Blue Dart Aviation, is all set to induct its seventh freighter, a Boeing 757, in October this year. The aircraft, owned by DHL Express's European Air Transport, has been sent for conversion to Precision Conversions. DHL Express holds 81% stake in Blue Dart.

"The Precision Conversions 757-200PCF, with its weight enhancements, is the right product at the right time to support our expanding global operations, especially in India," said DHL airline director, Gordon Olafson. With the induction of the third Boeing 757, the total tonnage capacity of Blue Dart will touch 300 tonne.

Blue Dart Aviation currently operates a fleet of six aircraft - four Boeing 737s and two Boeing 757s. It has recently phased out one Boeing 737, which had seen continuous service for around 10 years.
