Eclipse Aviation picks up confirmed orders for 120 Eclipse 500s

06 Jun 2007

Eclipse Aviation, the world's first very light jet (VLJ) manufacturer, has announced receiving a confirmed order for 120 of their Eclipse 500 aircraft from ETIRC Aviation, an Eastern European distributor. The deal provides ETIRC options to place orders for a further 60.

This deal takes the Eclipse 500's total orders to 2700, including options.

The Eclipse 500 is a lightweight jet, and is ideal for many emerging economies and markets. The eastern European market for VLJ's has been strong and growing, and the Eclipse 500 is expected to open up transportation within the emerging economies of Eastern Europe.

ETIRC, the Eastern European distributor for Eclipse, supplies VLJs produced by the company to a market that spans a region spreading from the Ukraine to Cyprus. ETIRC is also expected to acquire the necessary certifications for the Eclipse 500 in these markets.

The Eclipse 500 has a range of 1,125 nautical miles, and is a relatively inexpensive aircraft to operate.
