Epic chooses Pratt & Whitney engine for Victory VLJ

United Technologies subsidiary Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has won two new contracts from Epic Aircraft. Its PW600 engine will power the five-seat Victory very light jet (VLJ), while the PT6A-67 turboprop engine will power the new six-seat Dynasty aircraft.
Epic chairman and CEO Rick Schrameck, said, "We have selected a PW615 variant to power the Victory VLJ, and will soon develop a PW617-powered, fully certified version of the Victory."
The PW615 and PW617 new-generation turbofan engines deliver significant step changes in performance, cost and durability. They meet aggressive fuel consumption and material design targets and are a greener product. PW615 delivers 1,350 pounds of thrust, while PW617 offers 1,615 pounds of thrust. The PT6A-67 turboprop offers efficiency of operation and easy maintenance owing to its simple design.
P&WC support includes more than 30 owned and designated overhaul facilities around the world, field representatives on every continent and a 24/7 customer-first centre for rapid support. Based in Longueuil, Quebec, P&WC designs, manufactures and services aircraft engines that power business aircraft, general aviation as well as regional aircraft and helicopters. The company also makes auxiliary power units and industrial gas turbines.
