Hyderabad: Satyam Computer Services has announced that it has signed a multiyear, multi-disciplinary service agreement with Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC), a manufacturer of special purpose aircraft. The arrangement will enable HBC to fulfill orders more quickly, and within appropriated budgets, while maintaining exacting quality standards.

The contract mandates Satyam to provide design, computer-aided engineering (CAE), analysis, product lifecycle management and other services for the special-mission and trainer aircraft manufacturer.

This will enable HBC to leverage Satyam's aerospace engineering competency.

"We are pleased to have Satyam handle these critical projects, and to leverage its programme management and global delivery capabilities," said Randy Nelson, senior vice president, product development and engineering. "We are well aware of Satyam's superior track record in our industry-a competence it demonstrated in a recent pilot project at HBC. We look forward to having Satyam's professionals supplement our own expertise, which will help HBC generate rapid and profitable growth."

"Hawker Beechcraft Corporation is recognized as an extraordinary jet manufacturer, and we are delighted to begin a mutually successful, long-term partnership," said Subu D. Subramanian, the senior vice president of Satyam's manufacturing, automotive, and aerospace and defense practice. "Global organizations are increasingly adopting global models, and relying on robust and comprehensive  engineering solutions, such as those Satyam will provide for HBC. As a result, HBC will be able to increase its focus on providing superior aviation products and services for its clients."

Satyam will establish an offshore development centre with about 40 professionals dedicated to HBC projects and will eventually increase the number to 100.
