JWT, O&M sweep awards at Effie 2008

At the Effie 2008 awards held in Mumbai, JWT India was named the Effie agency of the Year for the  'Lead India' campaign it created for Bennett, Coleman & Co.

The creative agency also bagged the Grand Effie award for the 'Lead India' campaign, while  Bennett, Coleman & Co won the title of Client of the Year.
 
There was a close competiton between JWT and Ogilvy & Mather (O&M). JWT walked away with three  gold, one silver and four bronze Effies, while O&M bagged three gold, two silver and three bronze  Effies.

Lowe grabbed one gold, one silver and four bronze Effies.

JWT won gold Effies for Lead India campaign in the Corporate Advertising and Integrated  Advertising Campaign categories and Nike in the Consumer Products category.

O&M won gold Effies for Bingo! in the Consumer Products and Integrated Advertising Campaign  categories and Vodafone in the Services category.
 
Lowe accounted for one gold Effie for Idea Cellular, in the Services category.

The other agencies that took won a few trophies were McCann Erickson, Rediffusion Y&R, Bates 141,  Mindshare and Mudra Multiplier.

Effie is an international advertising award that was launched in India eight years ago in  partnership with the Ad Club
