Management expansion at McCann Healthcare Worldwide

Mumbai: With the Indian healthcare sector on the upswing, McCann Healthcare Worldwide India (MHCWW), a specialised division of McCann Erickson World Group that caters to the communication requirements of the Indian pharma and healthcare sector is seeking to expand its presence in Mumbai and Delhi.

The healthcare segment comprises companies in the pharma, biotech, and hospital sectors. To better address this niche, MHCWW has recruited key personnel in senior management, and expanded the responsibilities of the existing ones.

McCann Healthcare Worldwide (MHCWW) has been a pioneer in healthcare communications and advertising. It was setup as a specialised division of McCann Erickson World Group.

In India, MHCWW caters to the communication needs of Indian pharma and healthcare companies in the fields of medical marketing, medical education and consumer communication. As a specialist firm, MHCWW understands and engages healthcare professionals and has a deep understanding of the Indian consumer/ patient mindset.

The company works with some of the most reputed names and brands in almost every healthcare category, including over the counter (OTC), prescription, nutrition, natural remedies, social marketing and public health. The agency works both at the local and the regional levels.

MHCWW's client list includes Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline (pharmaceutical and consumer division), Nestle, USAID/WHO, USV Ltd., Piramal Healthcare, Dr Reddy's Laboratories and Novo Nordisk.

Satish Menon and Sohrab Sopori would now serve as General Managers for MHCWW's Mumbai and Delhi offices respectively. Both are part of the senior management team lead by Sanjay Nayak, president of McCann World Group India, Amar Urhekar, Asia director MHCWW, and Rana Bawa, vice president at MHCWW India.

The senior management team also includes Chhaya Sankath, business development director for Complete Medical Group India and Sohan Shah, AVP, for strategic planning.
