25 Jan 2010

Starting today, CNN will provide a week-long focus at www.cnngo.com on Mumbai, as part of its inititiaitve to unearth hidden facets and unique insight on the sprawling metropolis that impart it its own unique dynamism.

Announcing the 'Mumbai Week', Andrew Demaria, editor-in-chief, cnngo.com, said, that the site is meant to be fun - an enjoyable daily visit -- that celebrates from an insider's view all that is best in these amazing cities.

Demaria says, "We're delighted that our first city special focuses on Mumbai presenting the myriad hues of this technicolor city, looking not only at things to do or places to go, but really discovering more about the city's true character and the people that make up it."

Describing it as one of India's most vivacious and dynamic cities, CNN says Mumbai, the financial capital of India has many sobriquets: the city that never sleeps; the city of dreams - each holds a different appeal for every visitor.cnngo aims to acquaint readers with the city's culture, hues, people, places and all its authentic flavours through the experience of its locally based editorial team.

Among the highlights this week -  a special on-the-ground 'Guide to Bandra (West)' that maps out "this dynamic area like never before", together with a downloadable PDF to make experiencing the area that much easier.

The coverage fatures a list of the ''20 Best Hotels''; a retrospective on ''Old Bombay versus New Mumbai'' that showcases Mumbai's entrepreneurial spirit; a look at the people, places and events that are reshaping Mumbai's nightlife scene; and a cheeky ''How to bargain in India'' guide for even the most hardened of hagglers.
