Mint, Bloomberg UTV enter into strategic content alliance

21 Feb 2011

English business news daily, Mint and Bloomberg English business news channel UTV today said they have entered into a strategic content alliance, aiming to expand their content footprint to multiple platforms and reach out to new audiences.

Bloomberg UTV will feature important news and analysis from Mint every day and every issue of Mint will carry relevant news related stories from Bloomberg UTV.

''Our partnership with Bloomberg UTV will further enhance our offering, and give us an additional platform to showcase our content,'' said R Sukumar, editor, Mint.

Mint will also produce news and lifestyle related weekly television shows, which will be aired exclusively on Bloomberg UTV.

''Both Mint and Bloomberg UTV have been based on cutting these confusion multipliers and getting straight to the information,'' said Deepak Lamba, business head, Bloomberg UTV. The coming together of Mint and Bloomberg UTV, he added, will accelerate the progress towards ''uncluttered business news.''

The partnership will have no bearing on Mint's existing association with The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg UTV's partnership with Bloomberg, the companies clarified.

Launched in February 2007, Mint is India's second largest business daily and has a presence in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune and Chandigarh.

Bloomberg UTV is a strategic partnership between Bloomberg LP and the promoters of UTV, India's integrated media and entertainment enterprise.
