Namma Bengaluru Awards launched, Aim High Consulting to handle PR

A unique initiative to felicitate Bengalureans who have made a notable difference to the local community, Namma Bengaluru Awards, have been launched by Member of Parliament Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

To promote the awards a multi-media campaign will be aired.

Bangalore-based Aim High Consulting will be handling the communication duties for the Awards. The budget allocated to promote and market the event is upwards of Rs50 lakh.

The nominations for the awards opened today 14 October and will close on 14 November. The awards will be given away at an event planned for 12 December, 2009.
Nominations are invited from citizens across the city, which will then be reviewed by a jury comprising eminent personalities from the city.

At the launch, Chandrasekhar said, ''The Namma Bengaluru Awards is intended to be a sustainable institutionalised platform that will every year recognise and reward excellent, commitment, integrity and citizenship in public and private life.''

Press, TV, internet, radio, mailers, SMS and outdoor will be used to promote and communicate the event to the citizens. This apart, the media will be encouraged to create their own campaign to identify and nominate their candidates from their readership/ viewership base.

Chandrasekhar added, ''Our biggest challenge is to find fresh and unique approach to communicate the event to the citizens.''
