Ogilvy PR hires Liz Van Lenten as EVP and group director

Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR), has hired Liz Van Lenten as EVP and group director of its Chicago consumer marketing practice.

With more than 20 years of consumer brand communications experience, Van Lenten will provide senior counsel across the portfolio of Ogilvy PR consumer clients and help lead business development efforts on behalf of the office.

Before Ogilvy PR, Van Lenten served as a director, external communications for Abbott Laboratories, developing consumer-directed campaigns to extend the reach and impact of pharmaceutical public relations initiatives, including traditional and online/social media programs.

Van Lenten's previous work experience includes serving as a food and consumer practice leader with MS&L and Burson-Marsteller, and as the head of the consumer brands group at Golin Harris, where she spent 17 years growing global consumer and brand marketing accounts. Van Lenten has worked with a variety of clients across a number of industries, including: food and beverage (General Mills, Kellogg's, McDonald's, Campbell's, Pillsbury, the Florida Department of Citrus, Sara Lee and Coca-Cola); consumer packaged goods (P&G, Reynolds and Energizer); nutrition and health care (Abbott and Ronald McDonald House Charities); and retail (Levi's and American Girl); among others.
