''Nothing to tame inflation, push growth'': Opposition

Shiv Sena MP and former union minister Suresh Prabhu said the budget did not have any specific measures to check inflation.

"The budget is timid... There is nothing in it to control inflation," he said.

Taking a dig at the finance minister, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said Chidambaram has made pet foods cheaper, but did nothing for the people.

"It has nothing to stimulate growth," Prasad added.

The budget was widely expected to have measures to check inflation, which is hovering at a two-year high of 6.7 per cent.
