The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested Dr Pradeep Vyas an IAS officer who is currently secretary (expenditure) in the department of finance of the Maharashtra government and three others in connection with the Adarsh housing scam.

The other three are Maj Gen  (retd) T K Kaul and Major General (retd) A R Kumar and former Congress MLC Kanhiya Lal Gidwani in the course of the day.

Kumar was arrested early from his Hyderabad residence and produced before a court there for transit remand for being taken to Mumbai, CBIO sources said.

Kaul was not present when a CBI team visited his home in Mumbai, but later turned up at the CBI office on his own where formalities were completed for his arrest.

Both Kaul and Kumar would be produced before a designated court here tomorrow along Gidwani who was arrested yesterday after he secured bail in another case.

Gidwani, who was in judicial custody, was granted bail on Tuesday evening by a Mumbai court but was arrested as soon as he was released from Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai on Wednesday morning.
