Three weeks after he was forced to leave for Haridwar, following police action against his agitation in Delhi, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Sunday returned to the capital to enquire about a woman who was critically injured in the police crackdown.

This was the first visit by Ramdev, who heads the Haridwar-based Pantanjali Yog Peeth, to Delhi following the Ramlila Ground crackdown in the first week of June.

Thanking his supporters at a press conference and angrily lashing out at the police, Ramdev said the whole world had seen the state violence meted out to women and children during the crackdown.

He said that police attacked his supporters even as they were trying to extinguish the fire that had been set to the stage during the police action on 4 June. "They attacked my supporters who were trying to extinguish the fire."

Slamming the manner in which the government had reacted to his protest fast against corruption, he said if the government suspected anythging was not above board regarding about activities, then why did four ministers come to the airport to meet him when he arrived and why did prime minister Manmohan Singh and finance minister Pranab Mukherjee write letters to him.

Daring the government to come clean on the issue of black money, he said, "If its not their money, then I ask, why are they afraid of declaring it as national property. I have uploaded all the details of our account in the website. Government should do the same," he said.
