All India Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee is planning to take the Saradha 'chit fund' battle to the Supreme Court, according to several reports.

Banerjee, West Bengal's chief minister, has repeatedly alleged the central government of trying to implicate her party in the Saradha scam by misusing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for political vendetta.

West Bengal transport minister Madan Mitra, TMC MP Srinjoy Bose and their associate Kunal Ghosh are all in jail in connection with the multi-crore scam. Several TMC leaders have also been questioned by the CBI in the last few months.

TMC's senior leader in parliament Derek O'Brien also said that the CBI was being misused for political vendetta by the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP). "TMC will fight against this in political and legal ways both," he said.

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee had charged the BJP-led government at the Centre of using the CBI as a "political tool" by the government.
