2G Scam: Enforcement directorate grills lobbyist Radia; issues notices to 9 telcos

24 Nov 2010

Widening the probe into 2G spectrum allocation scandal, the enforcement directorate (ED) of the finance ministry today questioned corporate lobbyist Nira Radia over her firm's alleged influencing of 2G spectrum allocation.

The ED also issued notices to nine 2G licence holders who were alleged to have received undue favours.

Radia, however, has denied any role in the scam despite the ED questioning her for almost eight hours over volumes of tapped conversations.

The ED is reported to have taped conversations of Radia with various people, both in the corporate and government levels.

She, however, offered to make herself available as and when the ED wants her for further questioning.

Radia, whose firm liaises for major corporates, said the firm's work was transparent and is open for all to see.
On the other hand, Radia assured to help ED in their probe into the scam.
