GST revenue collection drops to Rs94,726 cr in December

GST collection dropped to Rs94,726 crore in December 2018, lower than the Rs97,637 crore collected in the previous month.
Of the total gross GST revenue of Rs94,726 crore collected in December, CGST accounted for Rs16,442 crore, SGST for Rs22,459 crore, IGST for Rs47,936 crore (including Rs23,635 crore collected on imports) with cess adding Rs7,888 crore (including Rs838 crore collected on imports).
The total number of GSTR 3B Returns filed for the month of November (up to 31 December 2018) stood at 7.24 million.
The total revenue earned by central and state governments after regular settlement in December is Rs43,851 crore for CGST and Rs46,252 crore for SGST, the ministry added.
The government has settled Rs18,409 crore to CGST and Rs14,793 crore to SGST from IGST as regular settlement, the finance ministry stated. Further, Rs18,000 crore has been settled from the balance IGST available with the centre on provisional basis in the ratio of 50:50 between centre and states.
The total revenue earned by central government and the state governments after regular settlement in the month of December 2018 consisted of Rs43,851 crore for CGST and Rs46,252 crore for the SGST.
The GST collection stood at Rs1,03,000 crore in April, Rs94,016 crore in May, Rs95,610 crore in June, Rs96,483 crore in July, Rs93,960 crore in August, Rs94,442 crore in September, Rs100,710 crore in October and Rs97,637 crore in November.
