Rupee gains 40 paise

Mumbai: Thanks to continuous dollar inflows the rupee gained 40-paise against the dollar, closing at 44.06/07 per dollars. According to market analysts, the rupee could soon breach the R3 43 mark.

On a week-on-week basis, the rupee has appreciated by 100 paise from its closing levels in the previous week.

Currency analysts and forex dealers are of the that the Reserve Bank of India is allowing the domestic currency to appreciate.
