After CDMA, Haier Mobile launches GSM phones

New Delhi: Mobile phone brand Haier Mobile, which is better known for its CDMA handsets, has now launched three GSM phones, marking the company's debut into the GSM segment. The three GSM Phones has been named 'Wow', 'Twinn' and 'Double'.

Avijit Dutt, director of marketing communications for Haier Mobiles says, ''Haier Mobile intends to introduce at least three new ID's every quarter as the dedicated design centre based in India allows us to feel the pulse of the market and rapidly convert into great phones which follow Haier Mobile maxim of providing state- of - the - art phones which are value for money for the Consumer.''

The 'Wow' is out to do just that, combining features such as a colour screen and FM phone with the capability to record both voice and FM on loudspeaker. Haier says the stereo FM clarity is very good, and the phone's built-in phone book memory can manage 500 contacts with three phone numbers each, storing a total of 1,500 phone numbers.

The Twinn phone is a slider phone with a feature called 'Active Double GSM SIM', which means the phone can handle more than one SIM at a time. The phone comes in a novel faux leather box packing, with a mirror within, which means the box can be re-used by the ladies as a vanity case. The phone's built-in phone book can store six numbers per contact, or 3,000 phone numbers. It is MP3 and MP4 capable, and features a 1.3 mega pixel camera.

The Double is a power packed candy bar phone that supports dual GSM cards, where both SIM cards can remain active simultaneously. The phone offers Bluetooth, FM on speaker, an MP3 player, camera, video recording, flash memory card upto 1 GB, and is MMS / GPRS / WAP enabled. The phone book memory supports a thousand contacts, with six numbers each, holding six thousand phone numbers securely.
