Bang & Olufsen unveils 100Hz TV

Bang & Olufsen has unveiled a new 40-inch version of its BeoVision 8 TV.

This new release is meant to be an entry-level system for home cinema viewing.

In its compact package, the BeoVision 8 features more advances in LCD TV technology. It has double frame rate (also known as 100Hz) and motion compensation, which doubles picture refresh rate and renders picture quality on screen much sharper

BeoVision 8 also includes contrast improvement technology, termed 'Dynamic Contrast' which optimises the contrast according to the picture content in each scene. In addition, both BeoLink home integration functionality and extra video connections can be included with a convenient plug-and-play module.

Sound performance for the BeoVision 8 also sets new standards for compact televisions: a down-facing bass speaker provides firm foundation for movies and music; front units specifically reproduce human speech.

Designer David Lewis explains, "What we did was we moved the sound forward and up, designing the TV like a proper stage with an orchestra pit. This ensured the synergy between performance and design expected of Bang & Olufsen."

The BeoVision 8 offers maximum flexibility being easily moved around, placed high or low. And with retractable feet support, it can sit casually either directly on the floor or on a countertop; elegant stands and wall bracket program gives additional placement options.
