Conagra Brands recalls over 700,000 pounds of spaghetti, meatball products

12 Jun 2017

Conagra Brands, Inc, is recalling over 700,000 pounds of spaghetti and meatball products as they contained milk, a known allergen, that was not declared on the product label, the US Department of Agriculture said.

According to officials, the recalled products were produced on 5 January and 12 January of this year and bore the establishment number ''EST. 794M'' inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The products come in 14.75-oz. cans and consumers have been advised to not consume the recalled products, and to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.

According to officials, the products came under inspection after an ingredient supplier notified the company that the breadcrumbs used in the products contained undeclared milk.

No illnesses had been reported related to the recalled product thus far.

Consumers may contact Conagra customer service at 866-213-1245 for questions or concerns. They can also find more information on the USDA website.

The products under recall bear establishment number ''EST. 794M'' inside the USDA mark of inspection. The items were shipped nationwide to warehouses for distribution and retail locations.

The problem came to light on 6 June, 2017, when the company was notified by an ingredient supplier that the bread crumbs the company received and used in the recalled products potentially contained undeclared milk.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling firms notified their customers of the recall and that steps were taken to make certain that the product was no longer available to consumers.
