Fortis takes over management of S L Raheja Hospital

Ranbaxy family-promoted private hospitals chain arm Fortis Healthcare Ltd, will now operate and manage the 280-bed S L Raheja Hospital in Mumbai.

Fortis Health care has assumed charge of operations and management of the hospital with immediate effect and Shivinder Mohan Singh, managing director, Fortis Health care said in a statement.

It said, "It gives us great pride to be associated with a reputed hospital like S L Raheja and we are committed to take it to a premier health care facility level. We appreciate and regard the confidence reposed in us by the Raheja family and its trustees and are confident of bringing quality health care to Mumbai.''

Fortis said that it would leverage its experience and expertise to enhance the range and quality of health care services being provided by the hospital. The company will also upgrade the medical program at the hospital, enhance existing facilities and introduce new specialties.

Raheja hospital, owned by a charitable trust, is known for its focus in diabetology (including diabetic foot surgery) and oncology.

The hospital also offers high-end services across a range of specialties including urology, general surgery orthopaedics, and neurology. These specialties are backed by services in various multi specialties including paediatrics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, psychiatry, pulmonology, etc. It also has well equipped and monitored critical care unit, 5 operation theatres, and a comprehensive range of diagnostic services.
