Fujifilm launches new digital X-ray machine

New Delhi:  Fujifilm India has launched its new CR Model "PRIMA" through its national sole distributor Jindal Photo Ltd. Fujifilm India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujifilm Corporation, Japan, global pioneer of computed radiography.

The Prima is a basic entry level CR system with all the features of Fujifilm existing product line with less throughput, maintaining its high image quality and stability. Computed Radiography (CR) system upgrades the existing conventional x-ray facility to digital.

Fujifilm pioneered the Computed Radiography technology in 1983, which eventually became commonplace in medical diagnostic applications. Fujifilm is the worldwide market leader because of the proven reliability over more than two decades, flexibility to address a variety of clinical applications and lower costs to take multiple exam rooms digital.

The advantages of this technology include mean that a darkroom and chemicals are no longer required to process x-rays and lower storage costs because images can be stored digitally. Computed radiography rarely requires retake due to wider exposure latitude, which results in lower radiation to the patient. Image acquisition is much faster - image previews can be available in less than 45 seconds. Images can be enhanced digitally to aid in interpretation. Images can be stored on disk or transmitted for off-site review.

Computed radiography (CR) has now become the main tool in acquiring, processing and displaying digital images. Computed radiography (CR) uses same conventional radiography equipment, except that in place of a film to create the image, an imaging plate (IP) made of photostimulable phosphor is used.
