Galileo introduces ‘online check-in facility’

24 Feb 2009

Galileo, a global distribution system (GDS) provider, introduces for the first time ever an 'online check-in' facility - a 24-hour advance web check-in for seven airlines on a single platform. This self-service feature for travellers places 'Travelport View Trip online itinerary' users into the first step of the airlines check-in process ensuring comfortable travel for its air passengers.

The Online Check-In facility is available for Galileo created itineraries on Travelport View Trip for seven carriers- British Airways, Delta Air Lines, Virgin Atlantic, Frontier, Midwest, BMI, and Swiss Air (PA 563).

The 'online check-in' option directly links Travelport's ViewTrip online itinerary users to participating airline's website passenger and directly drops the user into the first step of the airlines check-in process. This means that with an access to seven airlines under one umbrella, the customers are exempted from re-entering their travel details on the individual airlines check-in websites as it is automatically done for them once they enter the viewtrip website.

Developed with a user friendly approach, the Travelport View Trip website provides easy online navigation to access comprehensive travel information. The enhanced website available in 21 additional languages, has been redesigned with a number of added amenities like - currency conversion, interactive maps, passport / visa information, travel and health advice, events calendar and weather report. With the revised layout, the passengers are endowed with a clearer presentation of the Itinerary, Electronic Ticket and Electronic Expense Receipt.
