The ministry of tourism''s Incredible India pavilion has turned out to be a big draw at the China International Travel Mart 2007 being held from 1 November to 4 November in China''s Kunming city.

With 2007 being celebrated as the "India-China year of friendship through tourism", India had been invited to the China International Travel Mart November 2007 as the "guest of honour country".

The Indian delegation at the mart is being led by additional director general (tourism) Sanjay Kothari. Seventeen tour operators from India are participating as co-exhibitors in the pavilion to promote packages to India.

Other activities in the pavilion include cultural performances by a group of Chhau dancers from Orissa. The other attractions are mehndiwalis and churiwalis, which have been attracting a large number of visitors.

An India Evening was also organised at the mart to show case India''s progress and vibrancy to travel stakeholders and media representatives from China, with a presentation on Indian tourism and its growth.

During the four day event, outdoor advertising at different locations and on the buses running in Kuming City is also being done.
