Mumbai: Kabir Jewels, a member of the Gem and Jewellery Promotion Council of India, has introduced 'Vanshi', a collection of diamond jewellery. The collection was unveiled at FTV's Fashion Week on May 14 in Mumbai.

Established in 1982, Vanshi offers a range of diamond-studded jewellery in both traditional Indian and contemporary western designs. The range uses precious and semi precious sparkling stones in 18kt, 14kt, 10kt of white and yellow gold with one-prong, invisible and pressure settings and solitaire collections with diamonds in vvs1 and vs1 purity.

The traditional Indian range showcased heavy jewellery loaded with diamonds and coloured stones, apt for special occasions. The contemporary collection focused on jewellery for formal wear with fewer diamonds, solitaires and coloured stones. The casual jewellery, on the other hand was young, with white gold and very few diamonds and coloured stones, just right for daily wear.

Speaking at the launch, Dharmesh Vaghashia, managing director, Kabir Jewels group, said "We want every segment of India to own a diamond. Through Vanshi we are trying to create an appeal for every age and segment of the society. The Indian diamond industry is on the threshold of a new era and branded jewellery is the name of the game in today's scenario,".
