OnMobile Global Limited, India's largest telecom VAS and data solutions company, has announced the launch of what it says is a 'first-of-its-kind' comprehensive phone backup product along with Bharti Airtel, Maxis and Indosat, that allows subscribers to take a back up of all types of personal information including files, messages, videos, photos, music, contacts, calendar, events and tasks stored on their mobile.

OnMobile is the first Indian telecom VAS service company to go public.

All the data is backed up 'over-the-air' to the operator network, for which the user needs to download the handset client from either the service provider's website or by an SMS request, and is available on both GPRS & non-GPRS handsets on a monthly subscription basis.

The service is said to be easy to use with a intuitive user interface.

''The Phone Backup product ensures that subscriber's retain precious personal information stored on their mobile phones, in event of theft, loss, damage, mistakes & phone upgrades,"  says Arvind Rao, CEO and co-founder, OnMobile Global Limited.

"They can easily retrieve their personal information, over-the-air from the operator network. Even on purchase of a new mobile handset, the service helps them to effortlessly migrate all their precious personal information to the new handset.''
He added, ''All our innovations strive to add value to the end user's VAS experience. This product is aimed at consumers who value their personal information stored on the mobile and seek to insure the same.''

This product is easy to use and all features are accessible either from the phone application or self service web interface. Users can subscribe to the service by simply sending ''BACKUP'' a toll-free number. The subscriber's primary concern regarding the safety and security of their personal information has been addressed by enabling secure transmission of consumer's data over-the-air.
