Yoga Guru Ramdev-fronted fast-moving consumer goods firm Patanjali Ayurveda, after making headway in several markets, is planning to go online in a big way.

The company is likely to partner with eight major retailers - Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, 1MG, bigbasket, Grofers, ShopClues and Snapdeal – for online sales.

Patanjali will organise a function in New Delhi on 16 January in which Ramdev and the company's managing director Acharya Balkrishna will meet representatives of online retail companies.

Patanjali spokesperson S K Tijarawala told PTI, ''Now, we would have an organised and systematic agreement with the players to place our all products online.''

Taking to Twitter, Tjarawala said, "Patanjali Ayurveda has started working on a massive online push. The announcement of agreement with world's largest ecommerce companies will happen soon. A new chapter of online shopping of Patanjali products from many portals will begin soon."

Tijarawala said partnerships with e-retailers will be in addition to Patanjali's own web portal. ''The retailers and aggregators would share the dais … they are coming and make announcement together that they would be working with brand Patanjali,'' he said.

On 26 December, Patanjali Ayurveda announced it was eyeing the diaper and sanitary napkin business. The Haridwar based company had also announced that it would be venturing into solar equipment manufacturing.

Besides FMCG, Patanjali Ayurved is present in other sectors such as education and healthcare. In 2016-17, the company had crossed a turnover of Rs10,500 crore and aims a two-fold growth this fiscal.

One of the fastest growing FMCG companies, Patanjali climbed from 45th place last year to 19th this year in the Forbes magazine's Annual India Rich List, according to an Economic Times report.
