Percept launches annual corporate cricket tournament in Goa

Top corporates across India have come together for the very first time to participate in the 'Goa Super Sixes' cricket tournament, India's first premium annual corporate cricket tournament. 

This unique corporate cricket property has been ideated, conceptualized and will be executed by PDM India, a Division of Percept Limited.

Commenting on the latest initiative from the Percept stable, Harindra Singh, vice-chairman and managing director, Percept Limited, said, ''The concept of the Super Sixes is quite popular globally, and we wanted to introduce this concept into corporate India. We wanted to involve all the top Honchos from the corporate world and create an exciting property for them as there weren't any sports related activity where the top leaders of leading organizations could participate. As cricket is immensely popular with people of all ages we decided to create a cricket tournament specially designed for the corporate world.''

Kingfisher Airlines is the official airline partner, Taj Exotica is the hospitality partner and 'Chivas' is the spirits partner for the ''Goa Super Sixes'' Tournament.

The 'Goa Super Sixes' started at the Taj Exotica, Goa yesterday and will go on till  12 October, 2009. Seven leading corporate cricket teams comprises Future Group, Bharti Teleservices, Godhawat Group, Indian Television Academy, Maru Group, Pinc Group and Percept Limited will be led by their respective leaders viz. Kishore Biyani, Rajan Mittal, Sanjay Ghodawat, Shashi Ranjan, Gaurang Gandhi, Vasant Maru and Harindra Singh will battle it out for the coveted 'Goa Super Sixes' 2009 Championship.

Cricket icons such as Kapil Dev and Dilip Vengsarkar as well as celebrities from the Bollywood, music and the fashion arena viz. Sunil Shetty, Cyrus Broacha, Manav Gohil, Shaan, Atul Wasan and Ajay Jadeja  to name a few, will participate as team members in the seven corporate teams.

Said Rajan Mittal, vce chairman and managing director, Bharti Enterprise, ''Cricket has always been a passion for Indians and it's a great initiative by Percept to have a cricket tournament for the corporate world. It will be a good platform for our team to network with participants from other companies.''
