Percept launches Horrotainment

Leading content and entertainment conglomerate, Percept Picture Company, recently announced the launch of PPC Horrotainment - a dedicated division to cater to horror films in India.

PPC will release 10 films in this genre with three films every year. All these films will be youth centric, entertaining, sensuous, edgy and scary.
PPC Horrotainment will start their first film "Grrr…." with ace film director Priyadarshan in June 2009.

Says Shailendra Singh joint managing director, Percept Limited, "PPC has carved a niche for itself and created landmarks ever since its inception. The business model at PPC is based on identifying gaps and exploring their potential. This is done through a continuous understanding of consumer-entertainment-consumption patterns."

He adds, "We have been presenting movies of all genres. We believe that if one sticks to one brand, the success will be lower. We are delighted about the fact that PPC Horrotainment's first film Grrr… is with ace film maker Priyaradarshan."

Priyadarshan said, "Percept Picture Company has consistently demonstrated its ability to dwell with various genres of entertainment. I am once again delighted to work with them and explore a new genre."

Grrrr... is an action-packed thriller about a beastly ghost in the jungle. It pounces on its prey from the darkness. No one has seen it and whoever did… never came back to tell the tale.

Something has turned strangely vicious and their predatory man-eating instincts have been triggered in the most ghastly fashion. Habitat destruction and large scale poaching for its skins and bones have led the once majestic animals to fight back agaist man for its survival. Mythic, terrifying, and suspense-filled, it's keeping a watch on its victim's every move!
