Reliance, Nokia team up to provide affordable mobility

Mumbai: Mobile handset manufacturer Nokia and Reliance Communications Ltd (previously Reliance Infocomm) will market the CDMA Nokia 1255 mobile handsets at Rs1,999. This is Nokia's maiden offer of a CDMA handset in the sub-Rs2,000 range.

Nokia 1255 is an entry-level black and white handset targeted at first-time mobile phone users. The handset provides a two-way hands-free speakerphone, voice recorder and a calendar with an alarm clock, built-in games, 20 ring tones, selection of user-selectable screen savers, .250 contact phonebook, text messaging, stopwatch and an internal vibrating alert. Nokia says the hand set offers four hours of talk time and up to 10 days of standby time.
