Under a new retail initiative, Japanese watchmaker Seiko's premium watches  will now have better display and sales in exclusive showrooms.

The company will open two exclusive boutiques of around 1,500-sq ft size in Delhi and Mumbai in the next financial year.

In three years, eight  similar stores will be launched in cities such as Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad. The company, which moved from mass-market to premium category seven years back, now retails watches through 120 multi-brand stores in 44 towns in the country.

The company will launch its first spring-drive mechanical watch in India, 'Ananta' next year.
