Spirit''s world-class cine support facility attracts renowned filmaker

Hyderabad: Suresh Productions and Ramanaidu Studio recently inaugurated world class cine support facility 'Spirit' has attracted film producer Barrie Osborne maker of films like 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Matrix.'

'Spirit' offers wide-ranging services, state-of-the-art digital and special effects technologies to filmmakers and the entertainment industry worldwide. The facility's end-to-end film making capabilities offer high-quality film processing, post-production, and distribution services and creative services that allow filmmakers to refine and enhance their films.

The advance digital post production technology from Spirit offers Cintel's DSX Telecine and Scanner, Celco's Firestorm Recorder, Da Vinci's 2K Plus Color Correction System. DSX is an exciting, next generation data-cine, designed specifically for high-end commercial post-production, resolution independent film mastering and restoration projects. The new Da Vinci 2K Plus delivers much sought-after enhancements in color processing. Celco's Firestorm can output multiple original negatives with sharpness and speed that far exceeds laser recorders. This is the next level of recorder.

Barrie Osborne inaugurated the facility and his visit highlight Spirit's cine support services capabilities and ability to attract known moviemakers from the entertainment world. Barrie was given a tour of the facility's and its studio that has the ability of taking a film from the concept stage to the screen using some of the latest and finest mix of digital technology with filmmaking techniques available globally. Spirit offers complete film, video and digital dailies and post-production services to all segments of the global entertainment industry under one roof.

Spirit's facility in Hyderabad is remarkable and is comparable with some of the finest studios," said Osborne.

According to a study conducted by KPMG and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India is rapidly becoming a big hub for cost-effective outsourcing for animation and special effects. The size of the Indian visual effects industry is currently estimated at around Rs300 crore growing at the rate of 30 per cent in the last few years.

The National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nascom), the country's IT sector umbrella group, says the size of the animation industry itself is Rs250 crore while special effects and other services account for Rs50 crore.

In addition to offering world-class facilities, Spirit is equipped with a high-speed shared private network, linking the facility to others including multiple Spirit locations in Hyderabad.

Spirit plans to hold many more open houses for both commercial and broadcast clients in the future.

Suresh Productions figures in the Guinness Book of world records for producing the largest number of feature films (120 in all) in the world by a single producer Dr. Ramanaidu. Its lab, Rama Naidu Color Laboratories has processed innumerable films and continues to do so.
