Wilson Racquet signs long-term agreement with Laura Robson

Wilson Racquet Sports announced that they have extended a long-term contract with Laura Robson.

Wilson Racquet Sports is a division of Chicago-based Wilson Sporting Goods, one of the world's leading manufacturers of sports equipment and owned by Amer Sports.

Wilson designs, manufactures and distributes sporting goods throughout the world and focuses on making technologically advanced products for players at all levels.

The 15-year-old Laura Robson from the UK started with Wilson at the end of 2007, and shortly after, reached the final of Petits As - a Top U14 tournament in Europe. Robson pushed her game into the ITF Under 18 circuit, which led to her winning the 2008 Wimbledon Junior championship, and was one of the youngest players in history to win a Junior Slam. Throughout 2008, she continued on WTA tour and defeated several WTA Top 150 players.

''I am excited to be part of the Wilson team,'' said Robson. ''I feel confident on the court, knowing that my racket, bag, strings are all of the highest quality''. Robson started 2009 her Wilson [K] Blade 98 racket, Eco Pro Tour Super Six bag, and a combination of Wilson Natural Gut 17 and Luxilon Timo 1.10 strings.

Robson has continued her momentum in 2009 by reaching the finals of the Junior Girls' Championship of the Australian Open.
