Yeddyurappa’s judicial custody extended till 3 November

B S YeddyurappaThe Lokayukta Court today extended till 3 November, the judicial custody of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in cases pertaining to alleged land scam. The judicial custody of another accused in the alleged irregularities in denotification of government lands was also extended by judge N K Sudhindra Rao.

On 15 October, the court had remanded Yeddyurappa and Setty, to judicial custody till today after it rejected their bail pleas.

Apart from Yeddyruappa, all other accused, including his sons B Y Raghavendra, a Lok Sabha member and B Y Vijayendra, who were released on conditional bail, were present in the court.

According to jail authorities, Yeddyurappa was not being produced in the court on account of ill health.

The other accused, meanwhile surrendered their passports through their counsels to the court. The court directed the court office to keep them in sealed covers in safe custody.

The accused had been issued summons by the Lokayukata Court on two of the five private complaints filed by advocate Sirajin Basha, regarding illegal denotification of government land for pecuniary gain. Yeddyurappa was the main accused in both complaints.
