Deepa ThomasIndia would be among the top 10 e-commerce hubs in the world by 2015, according to eBay India head (partnerships and pop culture) Deepa Thomas.

She added India would definitely be among the top 10 e-commerce hubs of the world by 2015 as it had the fourth largest internet users in the world.

She said, though India was witnessing many changes in 3G and broadband, there were issues with connectivity. She added India was still not as connected as it should be and connectivity beyond metros needed to be improved.

However, she said broadband penetration in countries like the Philippines and Malaysia was good and there was therefore scope for e-commerce or online transactions.

Even so, Bangalore had tremendous growth potential for emerging as the number one e-commerce centre in the country she said. The city had been in the top five list of e-commerce and had jumped to top three, she added.

She said  Bangalore had immense potential as it was active on all fronts like e-commerce, imports and exports.
