HP to drive Sify's on-demand cloud computing service

21 May 2010

Sify Technologies Ltd has enetred into a deal to run its on-demand cloud services on HP's converged infrastructure.

With this arrangement Sify will be able to provide demand-based computing services on a pay per use or flexible contract model.

Using HP's Converged Infrastructure, Sify would launch new cloud services including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for select applications under its On-Demand Hosting Platform.

This would be enabled by the Blade System Matrix, a product of HP's converged infrastructure which pools together Sify's IT resource into a highly automated and virtualised resource pool. Specific application templates developed would allow automatic provision of resources for every new business requirement.

Businesses users will be able to request IT services on the fly with a self service portal powered by the HP Insight Orchestration tool, within the Blade System Matrix.

"Customers using the new service will be able to accelerate time-to-market and reduce cost by leveraging IT services on the fly, without making substantial capital investments in technology," Sify's executive president, enterprise business, PJ Nath, told reporters.
