Jaguar Land Rover, the UK luxury car business of Tata Group, has reported wholesales of 101,943 units in fiscal third quarter ended 31 December 2023, up 27 per cent compared to wholesale volumes in the comparable quarter of the previous financial year and up 4 per cent compared to the previous quarter.

This figure does not include sales of the Chery Jaguar Land Rover China joint venture, which reported a 28 per cent year-on-year increase in wholesale volume at 291,113 units.

Among JLR’s top three best-selling models, Range Rover Sport reported a 49 per cent increase in wholesale volume while Range Rover and Defender models reported increases of 12 per cent and 14 per cent, respectively, in third quarter volumes.

Retail sales in Q3 rose 29 per cent year-on-year and by 2 per cent quarter-on-quarter to 109,140 units in Q3 FY 24, while total year-to-date sales for the fiscal beginning 1 April 2023 increased by 26 per cent to 317,695 units year-on-year.

JLR said its order book showed strong demand for JLR products with 148,000 client orders at the end of the third quarter. This, however, is lower compared to 168,000 at the end of the second quarter, reflecting increased order fulfilment and a consequent reduction in client waiting time. Orders for Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender represented 76 per cent of the order book, JLR noted.

JLR will report full financial results for Q3 FY24 at the beginning of February 2024, when additional volume details would be made available, it added.
