15 Mar 2025

ABB is planning additional investments in key growth areas, including manufacturing and data centres, in the United States, helping to create new jobs.
This includes $120 million investment to expand the production capacity of its low voltage electrification products, including $80 million investment in Selmer, Tennessee that will create 50 new jobs and $40 million investment in Senatobia, Mississippi that will create 200 new jobs.
ABB will use the $80 million investment in Selmer to to create a new, 320,000 sq ft facility to replace the existing ABB Selmer operations. This will increase production capacity at the facility by more than 50 per cent.
The new factory will be used to manufacture electrical equipment for large-scale high-tech industrial facilities, including data centers, factories as also residential and office spaces where consistent, high-quality power distribution is critical. The new facility is expected to open in Q4 2026.
Over the past three years, ABB said, it has invested more than $500 million in the US, its largest market.
ABB said the $40 million investment in the Senatobia facility will help meet increasing demand for advanced low voltage circuit breakers, especially for data centre expansion, advanced manufacturing facilities, and renewable energy microgrids.
ABB reported revenue of nearly $9 billion in the US in 2024, which was about 27 per cent of the group total.
With 40 manufacturing, distribution and perational facilities across 20 states, ABB employs about 17,000 people across the US.
