CII to host a conference on the media & entertainment sector---Enter Media 2001

Confederation of Indian Industry, also known as CII, is to host a conference on the entertainment & the media sector on the 7th and 8th August 2001 titled Enter Media 2001. CII believes that the Indian media & entertainment industry has the potential to outshine other new economy industries. This critical sector, which generates an annual turnover of over Rs. 10,000 crore, will witness phenomenal growth and rapid technological sophistication. The segment is also expected to witness consolidation.

Enter Media 2001 will uncover existing myths, while focusing on ground realities of the media and entertainment sector. It will also attempt to chart a future course for the industry to achieve global standards.

To evolve key issues ‘Online’ message boards on www.entermedia2001.com, launched on 7th July, will provoke and elicit issues! These would be gathered from industry executives and the public at large – representing a "market snap-shot" across each of the industry verticals. The idea is to define constraints and highlight possible solutions to the banes of each ‘sub’ in the sector. Opportunity to initiate an online discussion and debate, will throw up a wide spread response.

Prioritized issues will be presented and debated between a live audience and an expert panel in a live "cross fire" with stalwarts from the media and entertainment world on the 7th & 8th August 2001at ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton, Sahar, Mumbai between 0900 hours and 1730 hours.

Enter Media 2001 will have sessions on cinema:
"Cinemascope" – future opportunities; television/broadcasting: "Cable Guys" – emerging themes; FM/radio: "Radio Days" – the new age of radio; internet/broadband:"The Net Effect " – issues affecting the Cyber World; financing : "The Colour of Money" – finance in the entertainment industry; music: "The Sound of Music" – lend a ear to the music industry; content: "WYSIWYG" – what you see is what you get; media buying: "The Race for Space" – the dynamics of media buying; regulatory and commercial: "Playing by the Rules" - governance for the media and entertainment industry.

Enter Media 2001 will provide the first ever, exciting opportunity for all participants to benefit from an exclusive showcasing of products at the venue as well as an online web-based interactive programme making the event a "Virtual Show".
