Chennai: Public relations (PR) agency Hanmer & Partners Communications Private Limited is once again is in news. Not long ago Hanmer & Partners had created a storm in the industry by wooing-over the entire Chennai branch team of seven staff from rival Good Relations (India) Private Limited.

This time five of its own staff from the Chennai branch, who were with the agency when the Good Relations team joined, have put in their papers. Industry watchers had expected HR issues pertaining to the placement of the new staff to crop up within Hanmer & Partners.

It is learnt that the agency offered designations to the new recruits based on their experience. While this seemed equitable, the existing staff saw it as the filling up of slots, which would have been available to them.

The old staff say have decided to exit in pursuit of better prospects. One of them told this reporter that the parting had been "amicable." Interestingly all the five who have resigned seems to have quit the PR profession. None of them have joined a rival agency.

Meanwhile, the new teams at Good Relations and Hanmer & Partners are settling down to understanding their clients.
