SABe TV to telecast Asterix series

Mumbai: For the first time on the Indian television, SABe TV brings Asterix The Gaul, the famous cartoon series that have millions of fans all over the world. From 31 December 2001, Asterix will hit the channels Toon-Time (7 pm to 7:30 pm, from Monday through Friday).

Asterix is an animated feature film in which Asterix and friends come to life for the first time only on SABe TV to delight its loyal following all over India, according to a press communiqu issued by the channel here.

The Asterix series is full of fun-filled adventures taking place in the time of the Gauls and the rule of Julius Caesar. Starring Asterix and his best friend Obelix, these hilarious series is about the rivalry between Caesar and the wits of the Gaul villagers. This tiny village is the last village in the region to resist the Roman rule. No matter what the Romans try, they end up getting trounced at their own game by the shrewd and cunning little warriors.

Asterix and Obelix are two boisterous Gauls who live in a village that is the last French village holding out against the might of the Roman Empire. Protected by the village druid Getafixs magic potion that gives Asterix superhuman strength, all of the most perilous missions are entrusted to Asterix. He is a clever and levelheaded warrior, who knows when brawn is better than brain.

Asterix, the bestseller worldwide, has been specially dubbed in Hindi for SABe TVs young viewers. This series has been brought in after an overwhelming response to Turtle Island, which the channel launched a couple of months back. It received a 4+ TRP rating since the first week of its commencement.
