L&T, Ashok Leyland's results keep dull markets alive
19 May 2011
The Indian markets replicate yesterday's trade and ended on a flat note despite positive surprises from heavyweights L&T and Ashok Leyland. Sluggish breadth, moderate volumes and indifferent participation by heavyweights failed the Nifty to lift over 5450 mark -- 30 points from yesterday's close.
L&T surprised the streets by maintaining margins for the current financial year and strong guidance gave further fillip to the stock. L&T was accompanied by Ashok Leyland and Jet Airways in terms of earning shockers.
