Nifty ends flat on expiry; gains 6 per cent in June series

At 15.33 hrs IST, the benchmark index Sensex ended in red on the expiry day with marginal loss. It was a choppy session for the markets as markets was fluctuating in red and green territory for most part of the day within narrow band of 100 points in Sensex.

The Sensex was down 62.32 points or 0.35% at 17693.62, and the Nifty was down 10.80 points or 0.20% at 5312.35. About 1625 shares advanced, 1362 shares declined, and 329 shares remain unchanged. 

Selling pressure was seen in realty, banks, oil&gas and metal stocks. FMCG, capital goods and pharma stocks saw some bit of buying interest.

At 15.40 hrs IST, the European markets were trading in red with less than 1% losses. Dow Futures was down 60 points. Asian markets ended on a flat note.

Top gainers on the Nifty: HUL, Larsen, PNB, IDFC and ABB were up 1.1-1.8%.

Top losers on the Nifty: Kotak Mahindra Bank, HCL Tech, Unitech, Reliance Infra and Ambuja Cements were down 2-3.5%.
